Interview with Simon Tegala, sculptor Age 27, comes from
London
How important is what
you do to you?
What are you working on
at the moment?
Did you always want to
be an artist?
But you did go to art
school?
What was your degree like?
What happened then?
I worked hard at Goldsmiths for three years and then, because
my work is so big and therefore expensive in terms of materials,
I needed to get commercial sponsors for my final show. I actually
got four companies involved. Then I managed to sell my work
and I got a show and a gallery deal straight away.
Were you immediately established
as a sculptor?
Do you still have to do
other work?
So obviously you do look
forward to work every day?
