Interview with Janice Kirkpatrick, graphic designer Age:
37 Comes from: Dumfries
Did you set out to work
in design?
No I didn't really have a clue what I wanted to do when I
was at school. I was interested in biology, architecture and
geography. It was my art teacher who really thought I should
go to art school and when I got there I thought 'Yes, this
is me'. I loved the way of learning through continuous assessment
- I'd always hated exams. In fact, I used to pity my friends
on exam-based courses.
Was it hard setting up
your own business?
What do you do each day?
Do you enjoy it?
Does the job pay well
too?
What would your advice
be to someone just starting out?
And when you wake up in
the mornings, do you look forward to work?
