Interview with Phil Samphire, disability arts information
and advocacy worker. Age 34. Comes from Manchester.
What does your job involve?
It sounds really interesting.
Have you always worked in the arts?
What did you study?
I started of with an Access course to higher education at
a local college and then I went on to do a degree in art history
and film at Wolverhampton University. I'd always been a film
fan and I wanted to study something I was interested in. I
had a vague idea of looking for a job as a gallery curator
after university but I was kidding myself - those sorts of
jobs go to Oxbridge graduates!
So what did you do after
your degree?
Which aspects of your
job do you like the most?
What about the least enjoyable
aspects?
Any advice?
And do you look forward
to work every day?
