Interview with Wayne McGregor, choreographer. Age 30.
Comes from Cheshire.
So, what does a choreographer
do?
What sort of work do you
do on a day-to-day basis?
Well, obviously with my own company Random - where we focus
on integrating new media with dance - and then I'm commissioned
by other companies to choreograph. I've worked with the Royal
Ballet, the New York City Ballet, The National Theatre and
English National Opera. I might be working on an entire ballet
or I might be choreographing a fight in a film or working
on a sequence in a TV commercial - l did both the Eurostar
and the Nike ads.
It sounds fascinating.
Is it?
And what are you working
on at the moment?
And what do you like most
about what you do?
Any advice for aspiring
dancers or choreographers?
Do you look forward to
work every day?
