Interview with Hannah Barnes-Murphy, book editor. Age
24. Comes from Salisbury, Wiltshire.
What does a book editor do?
Is this what you always wanted
to do?
So did you study something
related to that career choice?
How did you get your present
job?
What do you like most about
it?
It sounds a great job. Is
there anything that's not so good about it?
Any advice?
You've got to show initiative; you can't sit back and expect
work to come to you. It's important to get work experience,
and you've got to be really pushy just to get that! Also,
I think it's a good idea to decide on the aspect of publishing
that you're interested in and then get the most relevant qualifications
you can. You've got to have what employers want.
Do you look forward to work
every day?
