Interview with Freia Turland, photographer. Age 25. Comes
from Cheltenham.
What does your job involve?
What's a normal day like?
Did you always want to be
a press photographer?
How did you get into the press?
Which aspects do you like
the most?
Anything you don't like?
What about the financial rewards?
Pretty bad actually! Although the longer you do it, the better
you get paid. You could become a picture editor or a deputy
picture editor but a desk job has no attraction for me. I'd
rather earn less and still be out taking pictures. There are
other benefits too; I get to go to some great events and places.
Any advice for aspiring press
photographers?
Do you look forward to work
every day?
