Interview with Simon Tegala, sculptor Age 27, comes from
London
How important is what
you do to you?
What are you working on
at the moment?
Did you always want to
be an artist?
I was actually destined to study medicine, as that's what
my parents really wanted. I studied biology, chemistry, physics
and art at A-level. It was an art teacher who told me I should
really go to art school and even came to see my parents but
they were not convinced. I pretended I was going on a school
trip the day I went for my foundation course interview. They
have only recently really approved of what I'm doing - a little
success always helps!
But you did go to art
school?
What was your degree like?
What happened then?
Were you immediately established
as a sculptor?
Do you still have to do
other work?
So obviously you do look
forward to work every day?
